Glaspatrick Church (Photo: Christian Corlett)

Description
An early ecclesiastical enclosure containing a church, a holy well (toberglas) and a burial ground. Local tradition speaks of St Patrick's charioteer, Totmaol, being buried here. Glaspatrick (glaise Phádraig) meaning St Patrick's streamlet runs from the summit of Croagh Patrick to the sea (Morahan, 2001). Much reduced in height the north and south walls of the church are still extant and although there are no architectural fragments to support dating, the use of large stones in the construction of this small church suggests the early medieval period (Corlett, 2000). In the townland of Glaspatrick there are three forts and two burnt mounds.
