Vestvågøy - 25 Borg - Midden Site/Artefact Borg farm number 93 Type Midden Site Number Nr 6 NGO Grid Reference 22546,2 1141826,2 List of Sites and Artefacts Click Here Interactive Map Click Here Excavation Details Test-excavations were carried out in this area from 1984-1986 in connection with the finds from Borg I. Further investigations in 1989 uncovered three house-sites and remains of a possible fence(Borg II). East of Borg II, house 1, a trench uncovered a midden (a waste disposal site), containing cultural layers. The midden is interpreted as being part of the settlement at Borg throughout the Iron Age. A number of artefacts found here are supposed to originate from Borg II: houses 1-3.
