The impressive burial cairn at Einangen
(Photo : Geir Are Johansen)
This very large burial-cairn is one of the most spectacular sites on Vestvågøy. Over the last centuries, the size has diminished, due to re-use of the construction material in stone-fences in the area. Restoration work is rebuilding the cairn. The structure was probably constructed during the Roman period
The cairn is accessible and visible from the main road. From the parking place at the top of the pass you can enjoy a panoramic view and also see the cairn.
